Boobs

Guys, I did something crazy this weekend.  Something I've been meaning to do for awhile but never had the nerve till it was a necessity.

I was fitted for a bra.  Mems has been nagging me for years telling me I wasn't buying the right size.  Then back in high school my BFFs used to tell me I was in D-nial because I refused to go up a cup size when they said I should... so I finally decided to see what size I should be wearing.

Now you know I have no trouble talking about boobs... or turning them into art for a good cause.
For those not in the know here's my cast from a few years ago... auctioned off for a pretty penny for Breast Impressions.

And there's nothing I won't blog about so... here's more boobage.

So I headed to the Bust Stop and took a number and waited in the dressing room.

This greeted me:
It sat in the floor and watched with its creepy doll eyes while the clerk came in and took three measurements, asked me what kind of bras I liked and left me alone with the doll.

Standing in my sports bra and sweat pants till she returned.

Then she handed me three options in a completely different size then I'd been wearing and left me to try them on...in front of the creepy little doll.   I have to say I loved all three and they fit amazing.

Don't let the creepy doll fool you.  Going to the Bust Stop was an awesome decision.  My girls are higher, better supported and having them in the right place makes me look thinner according to Mems.

Then Mems brought up one of her fave Designing Women episodes and asked if my new bra could be worn as a hat.... this clip explains all.  Jump to 4:20 for Mary Jo's diatribe about Suzanne's bra.  I could not find the other clip...but in another episode Mary Jo compares Suzanne's cup size to hat.

Can you guess where this is going?  Mems wanted to know if my new bra could be a hat... so I went for it.

I know, hot right? That's my Blue Steele look.

  2. Getting fitted at the Bust Stop is weird but totally worth it. I can wear my cup on my head, too. It looks like you got a pretty one out of the deal. Most of mine are what I call "grandma bras" since so few of the larger sizes come in pretty patterns.
