I'm roughly halfway finished with Couch to 5k. I'm still aiming for a mid May 5k, so I have a few weeks of running the 5k under my belt. I'm pretty pumped about it.
That being said... today kicked my ass. I know I seem to say that every week, but week 5 starts a split. Every three running days you do a different interval, today it was walk 5, run 8, walk 5, run 8... and man is 8 minutes a long time.
I'm thinking I'll probably run this same interval tomorrow, partly because my legs need it to keep from cramping up and partly because I'm scared of what day 3 may hold.
I will say I was pretty proud of how far into the 8 minutes I could run before my calf started cramping up and I had to pause to stretch. I can't imagine what would happen if the Kate circa Jan. 1 would have done trying to go that 8 minutes.
My run was peppered with moderating Bella and Molly. There was an attack yesterday (B tried to kill M for touching her bowl)... so we've been closely monitoring them.
I plopped them on the guest room bed and gave them each a chew toy:
They then would trade spots and chews throughout the half hour I was on the treadmill... ending up like this by the time I finished:
Now they're sacked out on opposite sides of the bed while I spread out my sore legs... while watching Figure Skating.
Did anyone else used to practice jumps in socks on hardwood floors in their house? Just me?
They are too precious! Week 5 sounds hard. I need to get back into things. And I spy seasons 1-6 of Gilmore Girls!
ReplyDeleteGood eye! I am a Gilmore Girls-aholic. Have all 7 seasons... just started re-watching Season 1... that show makes me warm and fuzzy inside.
