Odds and Ends...

I'm on staycation.

I'm using it to get back on top of my increasingly hectic life.  I'm not complaining, I promise.  Every event I'm running around to is something I've chosen to do and enjoy.  I just can't let the rest of my life stuff slack to do it.

So what's been going on...I just finished 3 weeks of boot camp which I totally loved but can't afford to keep doing at the moment.  Luckily I'm still getting my a couple of bills paid off then I'll be able to re-adjust my finances more than I can at the moment.

I didn't see huge number change from boot camp, one week I gained a pound the next week I lost 2, but I feel better and look toner than I did when I started.  And I lost 2 inches of boobs.

It did get me into the habit of getting up early every day and working out, so now I'm hoping to keep that up despite not going to boot camp.  I can either hit the park by my house for a run or a class at the gym.

Speaking of gyms, I've been a member of Gold's for the last few years because of a program through Blue Cross of OK that let me pay them a set fee and use the gym without signing a contract.  But Gold's is no longer part of that program so I have to pick a new gym.

My options were Hillcrest, Curves and the Y.  After checking the schedules and hours it looks like I'm going to join the Y.  (it's on my list of things to do on my staycation) I'm also hoping to get some good runs in so I can still do the Tulsa Run on the 29th.

I did three miles on Monday, hoping for 4 on Wednesday.  I'm totally digging this weather it's perfect for biking and running outside.

How are you enjoying the Oklahoma fall?

  1. The Y is pretty great in Tulsa. Thornton has tons of great classes, good equipment, and a nice pool with at least one lane open for laps no matter what. I miss it. The Y I joined here isn't nearly as awesome, but I still like the Y vibe.
