Trying something new...

As part of my resolution to be healthier and more frugal I'm doing something weird this week.

Instead of spending money at the grocery store on the easy staples I use and making a big vat of soup or chili, I'm going to save my money and eat the food that's in my fridge and pantry.

I have soup here, edamame ready to be steamed and salted, rice & seitan for stir fry, meatless crumbles for burritos.  Basically I just have to stop being lazy and cook and I'll be fine.

Let's see how this experiment goes.  Are you a cook every day or once a week chef?

  1. I did a similar thing on Saturday (posted about it here: http://veggingoutblog.com/2012/01/08/empty-pantry-scramble/). I don't have enough stocked to do it for a whole week, but I'm glad I did it. I felt clever and creative.
